One-on-One Light Painting Workshop from October

I recently taught a one-on-one workshop to photographer Kathy Buckalew… Kathy was a student at my 2010 Light Painting in the Landscape workshop in Maine, and she decided to take a studio still life workshop this past month.

Compared to landscape shooting, the still life is more about detail and nuance, and with the skills that she learned in Maine, we were able to further her knowledge and experience by photographing a complex and detailed set.

Kathy brought an amazing old Borroughs typewriter, as well as many other props, including some really cool old bottles and animal skulls, and she decided to create an image of the long forgotten desk of a naturalist / writer.

We had a great time, and I think the final image is very engaging:

“Harold is very good at explaining how to do the light painting methodically, and slowly (something I have to work on!).  This is not a quick fix or a quick product.  It takes time and patience and paying attention. But the results are well worth it.” ~ Kathy Buckalew, Wilmington, DE

We do have one spot left for this coming weekend’s (Nov. 5-7, 2010) Studio Still Life – Light Painting Group Workshop at my studio in West Chester, PA.

We are now accepting all major credit cards! If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll fit you in.
